Bio

When I was growing up, my love of escapist fiction was kindled through what I saw in movies and TV. Visual stories with fantastic premises inspired me. In addition, for as long as I can remember I’ve been interested in mythology, like the gods and monsters of Greek, Egyptian and Norse polytheism. A breakthrough for my development as a writer came in my early teens when I began designing monsters and then writing info, abilities, and stories around them. After that I made up other creatures that would help a hypothetical hero against the monsters, and then I created heroes to fight the monsters. As time went on I added more lore and story elements to the setting, which I would work to revise in later years. I also found a liking for superheroes after watching certain films and cartoons on TV, and it's been a hobby of mine to invent and develop heroes and villains for many years now, from little bits of their stories to the universe around them. During my mid-teens I became obsessed with fantasy, writing encyclopaedias on mythical beasts, plants, heroes, monsters, spells and historical wizards that I had made up, binding to books together with Blu Tack.

Around my late teenage years I started looking for a medium with which to tell my stories. Due to my interest in visual media, I took Media Studies as one of my GCSEs and then a BTEC National

Diploma in Creative Media Production (Radio and Video). I earning a Double Distinction and won an additional Film and Media Production Award for my contribution. I went on to university and took a BA (Hons) Digital Film Production course for three years. It was during my second year at university that I decided I wanted to be a screenwriter, because I had so many stories that I wanted to tell.

Since graduation I have been making short films, both independently and in a group with interchanging roles. I am in my element making films - on set or in the writer’s chair. If you’ve worked with me in the past or read my film reviews, you know I hold the medium to a high standard.
